• PAN-Aadhaar link According to the CBDT indirect, those who link their visage with 12- number unique UIDAI number after 31st March 2022 but before 30th June 2022, would bear to pay a late figure of ₹ 500 

For some time now, the government has been giving instructions to link PAN card and Aadhaar card, but many PAN card holders have not yet linked their PAN card.  Finally, the government is now thinking of closing the PAN cards of all these PAN card holders.

 PAN card can be linked with Aadhar card till March 31

 As stated by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), there was a long campaign to align the PAN card with the Aadhaar card.  As of 31 March 2022, no charges were levied for linking Aadhaar card with PAN card.

 Then the government again continued the process of linking PAN card and Aadhaar card with a charge of ₹1000.  This process will continue till 31 March 2023, after which Aadhaar card cannot be linked with PAN card.

 After March 31, PAN card will be deactivated

 According to the CBDT, if the PAN card is not linked with the Aadhaar card by March 31, the PAN card will be deactivated.  Once the PAN card is deactivated, it cannot be activated again.  Along with this, all business and tax related facilities of PAN card will be stopped.

 Let it be known that out of total 61 crore PAN cards in India, about 48 crore PAN cards have been linked with Aadhar card so far.  There are 13 crore people whose PAN cards have not been linked yet.

 How to link visage with Aadhaar 

1) Login at the sanctioned income duty website —www.incometax.gov.in; 

2) select' Link Aadhaar' option under the quick links section. You'll be diverted to a new runner; 

3) Enter your visage details, Aadhar card details, name and mobile number; 

4) elect' I validate my Aadhaar details' option and choose the' Continue' option. 

On your registered mobile number, you'll admit a one- time word( OTP). Fill in the blanks on the screen, also click' Validate.' After you pay the penalty, your visage and Aadhaar will be linked. 

After linking visage with Aadhaar, one can check about the status ofPAN-Aadhaar sowing online as well.

 2) Click at ‘ Link Aadhaar Status ’ in ‘ Quick Links ’ option; 

3) Enter visage and Aadhaar number; 

4) Click on ‘ View Link Aadhaar Status ’; and
