News Special Pavagadh Arohan - Descent competition will boost sports - 20 The government has been making efforts to further develop adventure sports and sports in the state. 

 Recently Pavagadh climbing and descending competition was organized by the state government.  Agriculture, Panchayat and Environment Minister Shri Jaydrath Singh Parmar flagged off 6 runners from 10 districts of the state from Manchi in Pavagadh.  

On the occasion, the Minister said that adventure sports is an important part of the process of holistic development of the youth.  Pavagadh Climbing - Organizing a descent competition will give a new impetus to the culture of adventure sports in the local area.  This competition will be an innovative attraction to visit Panchmahal after Panchmahatsav and Pavagadh Parikrama.  Elaborating on the development work undertaken by the government for the convenience of pilgrims and locals in the Pavagadh area, he said that Pavagadh would also be developed as an important center for adventure sports. 

 The competition was held from Manchi to Dudhiya Lake up to 2100 steps.  In the senior category (Bhaliya Saumat (Boys) of Amreli (15 to 6 years) and Bhoya Tejban of Valsad were the first place winners with a time of 5 minutes and 21.15 minutes, while Nishad Lalit of Vadodara, who was in the first place in the junior category (15 to 18 years).  

05 minutes and Hazariya Dabah of Panchmahal took 30 minutes 15 minutes. All the winners from 1st to 10th place were given cash prizes and certificates by the dignitaries including the Minister.

The delegation held discussions with more than 200 students and more than 50 academics in four African countries.  The main collaborators for road shows in Kanya, Ugad, Zimbabwe and Mozambique are Gujarat University, Marwadi University and Parul University Kata for Yugana and Mozambique.  In addition to teachers, principals and university representatives, students participated in road shows
