Veer Narmad's Birth Anniversary 3rd August Special Person Veer Narmad, the pioneer of Gujarati language, was born on 8th August, 19th in Surat in Vadnagara Brahmin family. Narmad's full name was Narmadashankar Lalshankar Dave. After getting education, he got education in Mumbai. During his education, he had a brilliant career. Narmad wrote the first poem at the age of 9 years. The personality of the poet Narmad is unique in Gujarati literature. Literary writer Kanaiyalal Munshi has called Narmad 'the first among the readers'. 'Narmadkosh', 'Narm Gadyamandir', 'Narmad Sarvasangraha' etc. are his creations. He published a periodical called 'Dandio' for the progress of reform activities. Vishwanath Bhatt has said, "He did not write Veer Kavya but he lived Veer Kavya." Veer Narmad, an invaluable gem of Gujarati literature, passed away in Mumbai on February 9, 19.
